NATURAL unmounted Calf or Goat Skin Banjo Head in 14" size - Opportunity for sale in Santa Rosa, CA

1 of 1
For sale! AUCTION is for a: 14" NATURAL goat or calf skin head, good for a 10" or smaller rim (no difference tonally, thickness is more important there, thin tends to be brighter, thick less bright)) SPECIFY SIZE on the Paypal payment page, look for the NOTE section , IF THAT FAILS JUST EMAIL ME! You may also specify the thickness if you have one, thin, medium or thick. FOR WHITE, SEE MY WHITE CALFSKIN AUCTION. (other ebay sellers don't sell new white, others charge up to $30) THE HEAD IS FOR A: BANJO, BANJO MANDOLIN or BANJO UKULELE (Usually the smallest head, a 12" or a 10" for rims 7" or smaller) THE HEAD IS ALSO CALLED A VELLUM (IN BRITLAND! ) HEADS PICTURED, LEFT TO RIGHT ARE: 1st picture 2 NATURAL HEADS, THE 1ST ONE WITH MORE MOTTLING; & THE NEXT PICTURE, A NATURAL IN THE MIDDLE BETWEEN 2 WHITE HEADS CALFSKIN GIVES THE MELLOWEST, WARMEST TONE OF ALL HEAD TYPES! SOME AREAS FLUCTUATE EXTREMELY AS FAR AS HUMIDITY GOES, SO YOU MAY WANT TO EITHER SPRAY THE SKIN WITH A WATERPROOFING AGENT, OR HAVE AN EXTRA BRIDGE OF A DIFFERENT HEIGHT (DRIER WEATHER=TIGHTER HEAD, DAMP=LOOSER). YOU MAY NOT BE AT ALL EFFECTED! THE BANJOHANGOUT (/GROUPS/HIDEHEADS) IS A GOOD SITE FOR DISCUSSIONS ON EVERYTHING RELATING TO SKIN HEADS! THE 16" SIZE WILL FIT A 12" RIM, THE 15" OR 14" SIZE WILL WORK FOR AN 11" HEAD AND IS EASIER TO USE SINCE YOU DON'T HAVE SO MUCH SKIN TO PULL AND TUCK UNDER THE STRETCHER BAND. MOST BANJO-UKES ARE TYPICALLY 7 TO 8" IN DIAMETER AND WOULD USE THE 12" SIZE HEAD. NOTE: ODD SIZE BANJOS (NOT 11" OR 12" OR 10 15/16" ) AND BANJO-UKES NOT 8" HEAD DIAMETER USUALLY NEED TO HAVE A SKIN HEAD! THAT MEANS YOU (OR SOMEONE YOU KNOW) WILL HAVE TO MOUNT AND TRIM IT AFTER IT IS INSTALLED SINCE THERE WILL BE EXTRA SKIN STICKING UP. YOU WILL NEED AT LEAST AN INCH AND A HALF EXTRA SKIN TO PULL ON WHEN MOUNTING, THAT'S WHY THE HEAD DIAMETER IS LARGER THAN YOUR INSTRUMENT DIAMETER. THIS HEAD IS THE SAME AS THE GOLDEN GATE P-198 THAT OTHER SELL FOR MORE MONEY. PS, I ALSO CARRY ALL GAUGES OF METAL OR NYLON BANJO OR UKE STRINGS FOR $4.50 A SET, AND FLESH HOOPS (A WIRE) FOR $5 EACH. THE HOOP (WIRE) IS THE PART THAT IS ENCLOSED BY THE SKIN SO THAT THE SKIN CAN BE TIGHTENED BY THE STRETCHER BAND. SHIPPING : is $5.90/Economy, International shipping, see the SHIPPING CALCULATOR Laurence White Luthery (formerly Thinmanmusic) Still available at ListedBuy!

Lost boxes and manuals a long time ago, sure the manual can be downloaded or ordered from the company....
