Material Handler - Production Operator (Newark) Job

Tectum, a subsidiary of Armstrong World Industries and one of eleven North American plants, is looking for Material Handlers to join our production team in Newark, OH.

Tectum has over 70 years of experience and innovation producing wall, roof and ceiling tiles.
We currently employ 100 people who are involved in the manufacturing and shipping of our Tectum product.

Required
Qualifications:

Must be able to work safely on a variety of manufacturing equipment.

Must be able to perform heavy duty work.

Must be available to work flexible day time hours including overtime and some weekends.

Must be reliable and punctual.

Must be able to work in a manufacturing environment (hot, cold, dusty, etc.
).

Must be able to read, write, and use measuring devices.

Must be able to communicate effectively with others, both verbal and written.

Must be willing to take training to develop process and quality knowledge.

Must be able to be trained to safely operate mobile equipment (Fork Lift Truck).

Preferred
Qualifications:
Prefer candidates with prior industrial manufacturing work experience.

Prefer High School Diploma or GED.

We are a drug and alcohol free work environment with that expectation of all employees

Job Tasks include:

Remove and stack finished boards.

Perform quality checks on the boards.

Perform fabrication such as, hand beveling, use of saws, spindle router and end router (with the required training).

Maintain a clean, safe work environment.

About the Location (Newark, OH)

Our Tectum manufacturing plant, one of seven Armstrong ceiling plants in North America, employs approximately 100 people across 2 shifts who are involved in the manufacturing and shipping of our Tectum product.
With over 60 years of innovation and experience in reducing noise worldwide, our Tectum plant has the right product for your noise problem.

This position is located in beautiful and historical Newark, Ohio, the county seat of Licking County, 40 miles northeast of Columbus.
