Youth Activities Coordinator, Youth and Family Services (Bilingual)

00 per Hour (Must Pass Agency Bilingual Test)The Youth Activities Coordinator, Youth and Family Services (Bilingual) is direct service position responsible for the development, organization, and supervision of out of school activities for school aged children living in the Family Support Center.
The Youth Activities Coordinator, Youth and Family Services (Bilingual) develops sustainable programming and out of school opportunities, including regularly scheduled and one-time activities and field trips.
The Youth Activities Coordinator, Youth and Family Services (Bilingual) partners with internal and external programs to bring enrichment opportunities and community-based activities to children and their families with a focus on social development, healthy recreational activities, and academic support.
The Youth Activities Coordinator, Youth and Family Services (Bilingual) will collaborate with Case Managers and the Youth and Family Services team to provide a safe and enriching environment and to support the development of community connections for children and families.
The Youth Activities Coordinator, Youth and Family Services (Bilingual) provides activities oriented towards individual and family resilience.
The Youth Activities Coordinator, Youth and Family Services (Bilingual) is dedicated to harm reduction principles and strengths-based trauma-informed programming.
Essential FunctionsIn collaboration with the Family Wellness Specialist and Academic Specialist, schedule, plan, and implement activities at Caritas Center and in the community, including:
Academic enrichment Arts education Athletics Health and wellness activities Homework help and tutoring Mentoring Recreational activities Ensure access to activities at Caritas Center and in the community:
Educate families regarding goals, activities, and expectations Address potential barriers to participation Establish hours and attendance based on community needs and program goals Advertise opportunities and recruit participants, including maintenance of an activities bulletin board and flyers.
Promote positive behaviors and relationships that reflect the principles of diversity, equity and inclusion.
Establish boundaries and protocols that support positive behavior, respect, cooperation, clear and consistent routines and expectations, and balanced use of time.
Implement a process to develop rules and behavioral expectations with parents and guardians that are age appropriate, clear, and respectful.
Practice trauma informed care that recognizes special behavioral needs, provides additional support as needed, and individualized interventions.
Build relationships with parents and guardians that increase the ability to strengthen families ties through parent involvement and increased communication and maintain contact with families to assure follow through with program opportunities.
Build partnerships with community organizations that allow for academic enrichment a wide range of experiences, match program goals, address access and logistical barriers.
Coordinate with external partners regarding protocol and procedure.
In collaboration with the Family Wellness Specialist and Academic Specialist research and develop or provide access to internal and external activities that:
Reflect interests of the children and youth Instill the principles of diversity, equity and inclusion Allow for exploration and expansion of positive interests Provide opportunities for skill building and experiences of success, and recognition of achievement Promote integration with the community Provide academic enrichment, facilitate learning skills, and exposure to new ideas and topics Promote creativity and problem-solving Balance the use of technology Complete all required documentation, including program agreements, Release of Information forms, applications, and communication.
Maintain participant rosters.
Attend staff meetings and in-service trainings.
Support the Mission, Vision, and Values of Catholic Charities in the performance of all essential job functions and responsibilities.
Note:
Catholic Charities considers this position to be a mandated reporter of child abuse and elder abuse.
Other Responsibilities Some travel within Sonoma county as needed.
Work with Diocese of Santa Rosa and local parishes as appropriate and requested.
Perform other related duties as assigned.

Education, Experience, and Skills Required High School Diploma or High School Equivalency (HSE), one to two-years' experience working or volunteering with children and families experiencing homelessness or equivalent related experience preferably in a recreation setting or youth programs, required; attendance at a college with course work in related field is highly desirable.
Bilingual (English/Spanish), passing score on the Catholic Charities' test of oral and written Spanish fluency required.
Must become certified in CPR and First Aid within six months of transfer to this position or hiring date.
Ability to work outside of business hours, specifically late afternoon and evenings on a regular basis to be available after the school day.
Ability to work different hours during school holidays and summer vacation.
Demonstrated knowledge of relevant community resources.
Computer literacy required including experience with Microsoft 365 Suite.
Ability to publish forms and flyers.
Strong written and verbal communication; organization, conflict resolution and problem-solving skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills, cooperative, friendly, proactive, and helpful attitude with clients and co-workers.
Ability to work closely with clients and other employees to ensure a positive and constructive environment within the program or department and throughout the Agency.
Ability to represent Youth and Family Services in the community and with community partners.
Passion and enthusiasm for the mission of Catholic Charities and its clients.
Valid driver license and at least state required minimum of automobile insurance, clear DMV driving record and ability to provide own transportation.
Must be willing and able to travel between agency sites.
Must be able to drive program participants.
Must pass DOJ background clearance (fingerprinting) in accordance with the Diocese of Santa Rosa's policies prior to start of employment.
